Hey!
We have no internet on the island again but I'm in the city this week because Sharp's going home and I have migrations. This is the worst. I'm literally going to die here. Its so official that I'm living in Kuna Yala as soon as possible.
Anyways, big changes this change. I'm getting my buddy from my MTC group, Elder Ricks, in Carti. And two other guys from my group are going to Nargana and Irgandi. So my entire MTC group except for one is gonna be in Blas this change. We are the chosen ones. So stoked for this.
So sad for Elder Mann though. After like nearly a year out there he's the new Assistant. So he's in the wretch infest city.
Anyways, been having tons of fun here the last two weeks. The last week there was this big Upper Commarca soccer match. So on Monday we got our friend Demis to take us in his giant cayuco up to Narasgandup to watch Tupile play. They played on this field they just kinda cut out of the jungle and it was sweet. Tupile played a little pueblo from back in the mountains, Akwa Yala, and they lost. Then the next three games...but still sick.
Also I was straight infest for like the past week and a half. Went to the Monte and the next day had some blisters with pus on my arm and they got worse and spread to my face and it was gross and hurt like heck. Did not want to go to the clinic so I started covering my arms and face in flour. I was turning into a bread man. But I swear it was working. Finally went to the clinic though and they gave me a cream and these pills that taste like a swamp. So wretch. It's better but I have just open sores now and I keep scratching them. I'm good though, no worries.
Gonna do some big things this change. There's an island right by us, that we passed on the way to the soccer thing, called Akwatupu. Prettiest island in the Commarca. I'm going to live there. I want to start going there on P-days to talk to people and try to teach some lessons to start the church there. Then there's like 4 others I can go to after that. We still don't have a cayuco to visit the rest of the islands in Carti as often but I just met President and hopefully I'll be able to ask him about it today.
So stoked on everything. Excpet that I'm in the city this week...I hate it. But super excited for this change. I spent the first 3 weeks of the last one with Zika, and then other things, but I've been eating tons of bananas lately so I'm set for at least two more changes without problems.
And we're gonna have a few more baptisms right soon. One of them is Luris and she speaks like zero spanish so we bring one of the jovenes with us to translate. And for a while I'd just kinda say the things to be translated. But it felt stupid and not like a lesson, but I remembered back in Panama Viejo, Sister Brinkman, one of senior couple missionaries who also knows no spanish, would teach one of the classes and have one of us missionaries translate. But she totally taught it in english like everyone could understand it, and there was a way different spirit in the room. So we started teaching to her more directly and it has been way more solid. Like you can feel the spirit way more. And that's the most important part! The other day we taught her the Sabbath day, and she works in the port on Sundays, but when we finished she thought about it and said she'd ask for work off on Sundays so she can start going to church. So sick. Hopefully she'll get baptized soon.
That's it for now. Hopefully we'll have internet back this next week.
Love you!
Elder Green
