"Also I got a face tattoo. It's sick."

Hey!

We got a surprise visit from Elder Mann this week, coming back from Costa Rica for migrations, and he said he came out on a boat with some church tech guys who were bringing a computer to our island. So we have it now! Still no camera for skyping, though, so we´ll be back in Nargana next Monday to skype.

I guess I'll tell you more about the island. We have almost no like teenagers because school here stops at like 6th grade, so if they want to continue they go to Nargana during the week. So we're left with like 5 or so. But there's lots of niños and old people. We're mostly surrounded by a reef so I can walk a couple hundred yards out in waist deep water before it drops off.

Every once in a while a Colombian boat comes by to sell stuff, but almost never here. They have like hammocks and food and house stuff. Bought a beast-sized hammock from one this week. I can lay in it completely sideways, its like a bed.

Oh and I got my hair cut this morning. I cut it myself a few weeks ago and I did good so I tried again today and I failed, so I went to one of our friends, Grena, l who has got a buzzer so he fixed it.

Lately the water has been buttery. It's like a giant lake. Not even a ripple for miles. And people have been catching buccos fish. Like all the niños come in with like 40 a day.

We also got a new investigator this week. We were kinda bored doing our usual laps around the island,  talking to people, so I decided we´d do one more lap and try to get a lesson, then go to the back side of Sindup, the little island behind us, to hang out for a bit. So we were almost done with the lap and we didnt have anything so we started playing volleyball with some little girls, and I asked if their mom was home and they took me to her. Her name is Rita and her husband is a member but hasn't been in years and she's one of the 10 people that go to the Baptist church on the island but she agreed to come to church with us and I think she liked it. We're gonna visit her again tomorrow. Oh and we went to the backside of the island after that and a guy came up in a cayuco and asked if we liked lobster. And we were like yeah, so he held up a bag of twenty of them and we bought it for $5.

Also I got a face tattoo. It's sick. They get this fruit from the monte and mush up the seeds inside and draw like a line down your nose. It goes away in a week but everyone thinks its funny. I think they like when the white men do native stuff. They also told me to rub the seeds around in my hand. And nothing happened but now they're stained black haha. Taylor and I are gonna cover our entire bodies in this.

Good to hear everyone is doing well. And I'll be sure to remember to write Lisa her letter. We might be going in this next change for a mission conference because President Carmack will be leaving, along with everyone out here in Blas, except for 4 of us.

Spiritual thought of the week:

I gave a talk my second week here and I based it off of one of Elder Holland's where he talks about the saints always having to pack up and leave their homes to build Zion somewhere else, like since biblical times. But now we can't think of Zion as where we're going to live, but how we're going to live. So to always try to set the example of righteousness in your wards and towns and what not.

Love y'all

Elder Green
