Happy New Year!

This week many things happened, but also nothing.

Elder Taylor 2 and I have started nightly El Rey runs. It’s the grocery store up the street from us. Most comparable to Vons I’d say. We just like it there. Also, we started buying baby food every time we go. Mushy bananas are freaking delicious. I call eating baby food "monking.”  Don’t know why, it just sounds cool. (do not add exclamation point here)

Also we're pretty sure the guy below us is a drug dealer, because we do not live in a nice place, but he just got a new Audi R8, which is fetching wik.

And our house flooded nearabout every day this week. We’re getting used to it though. It just sucks when you’re wearing socks and you walk in it. Literally worst thing ever.

I did go on splits this week with Nellis in my area and we found like five new families that are interested, but my companion like just doesn’t want to teach them. He’s gotten lazier, like I hated him this week. Less now. But if he doesn’t get changed this week its gonna suck.

Today for p-day I’m on splits with Elder Broadhead, the migrations secretary, so I’ve been running around the city with him. His job sucks. It’s been back and forth between post office and lawyers’ office and back to the post office because he forgot his phone. But I’m at the church offices with him right now so I can email on a normal computer which is fun. They did show me the changes board and my companions not switched yet if he’s going to but it’s still in progress so we don’t know. They’re all hoping he leaves too so I can get someone that will work. They told the assistants, so we'll see.

New Year’s wasn’t even half as crazy as Christmas. Franybeck and Carlos called earlier that day and invited us over which was super fun. Venezuelan food is always a good change. We ate a ton of cake too though. Nutella cake. I was going to die I ate so much, and they sent us home with it too. We did what we always do there and played a ton of Jenga. Carlos, the King of Jenga, spent 15 minutes on one piece before it fell…haha. He was so disappointed. Don’t know if their gonna get married yet but I hope so.

We had to get back to the house at 10:30 so we came back and played Tenzi until like 11:45 when we were about to get in bed, then we realized it was 15 minutes til 2016, so we just kinda sat there.

Streets were absolutely empty, almost nobody was home in the neighborhood and all the restaurants and bars were closed. Opposite of Christmas. But all of a sudden fireworks started going off everywhere. Like people were shooting them off the high-rises and throwing strips of firecrackers out. So, we starting running around in the streets like all over San Francisco. Super fun. And people letting go of paper lanterns everywhere but it was kinda windy so they just ran into the sides of the buildings haha. I actually like this city when nobody’s in it.

Also, I threw up on the way back, probably because of all the cake. So, I have earned the title of first to puke in 2016.

It’s been empty still for the last few days. In Viejo there’s people still passed out in the streets. They might be dead.

I’ve thought of how to describe the language here. Just take the way Scode and Brode and Braiden and Walkstache and I speak, and make an entire country speak it and just tell everyone its English. Theres so many made up words here.

Buccos = like hecka, or a lot

Panga, is the word for the crappy boats you take out to San Blas, so they use it for crappy or ghetto

Vina is the word for like the thing peas are in. But they use it for sheathe, and also for the word thing. So, it means anything.

Also, I like read the Pearl of Great Price for the first time this week. An argument about bigfoot lead to the bible then to that. Moses is freaking awesome. It’s just Genesis but better explained and not boring.

And two new investigators this week! Esaee (I think that’s how its spelled), who lives at the Kuna house came to church and just has buccos questions. He asked for a gospel principles book and I’m sure he already finished it. He’s gonna end up baptising himself. And another Kuna guy, Nilfo, just came to church on his own and wants to know more so are gonna teach him.

I’m getting frosty with Dule, the Kuna language. And I’m trying to learn Portuguese now.

Peace y’all

Love ya

No pillow or blanket yet. Just a sheet but that’s literally good enough. And no service but were gonna plan something soon.
